14th December - Status update “Ghosts of Speed”
We would like you to inform you about the latest developments around “Ghosts of Speed”. After last week’s very successful “sneak preview” a lot has happened. We hope that the preview made at Strand Horst already clarifies a bit what the purpose of the 2012 movie is. We would like to express the passion for speed surfing, show the great spots and scenery that the Netherlands has to offer, the friendship and sportive rivalry amongst the speed surfers and the fun this all brings to us windsurfers!

We emphasize that the production of this movie is 100% independent!
This is not a promotion of any particular brand. This movie will be about the spirit of speed surfing and will be totally brand independent. In due course we hope to involve several brands and companies who are willing to support this documentary movie.

At this stage many arrangements have to be made. This week we had a very constructive meeting with the project team. During this meeting we discussed the objectives and initial outlines of the movie, the logistics and the team setup.

Team Setup & Project Structure
Three project members have joined Angelo and Jeffrey and based on that we decided to make an initial project structure. Jeffrey Leeflang & Angelo Pecere, supported by Renske Hijlkema, will do the creative part of the movie. The Communications & Logistics part will be handled by Luc Salomons & Jan Hendrik de Bruin. Through this project team we will do the co-ordination of all tasks ahead. But we cannot do it on our own!

Communication & Logistics
It’s getting clear now that this project will be bigger than first expected and for that reason we will need a lot of support from all of you!
Support can be offered in a lot of different ways, for example transport by land, sea & air, web design, communications, housing, clothing, equipment and of course financially. If you would like to support this project in any way, or have ideas to organize support, please don’t hesitate to contact Luc Salomons or Jan Hendrik de Bruin.

Outline of the Movie
As mentioned in previous publications, this movie will be about Speed surfing, we decided to take advantage of the team-structure based on the GPS-Team challenge. At this stage we would like to involve the following teams & locations:
• Speed Team Lauwersmeer, locations Lauwersoog & The Ray
• Wad1Team, locations The Brace & Da Curve
• Speed Team Makkum, locations Makkum & De Houw
• Team Horst, location Strand Horst
• Grevelingen Chop Team, location Herkingen & Zonnemaire
In the upcoming weeks we will contact all team captains or specific team members of the teams mentioned above to discuss the project plan and participation.

Time Schedule
First shooting has started already; most of the filming will take place during the period between March & October 2012. Final Editing will be done in November and the movie will be live in December 2012!
